Have you cleared NVRAM and rebuild from scratch yet? I had the exact same issue when I upgraded from a Non-VLAN to a VLAN build. Once I cleared and reset everything the problem went away.

Assuming that I understood your post and did everything the same, I don't have that problem here with RT-N16. I get only the assigned vlan tabs. Anyone else able to check?

RT-N16 NVRAM60K 1.28.4493 VLAN-RT USB VPN-NOCAT Followed that four steps, check: All Bandwidth/IPT monitor pages are working fine, no strange tabs. Syslog is checked OK.

Uhm, yeah… are you sure that the firmware took? Are you sure it rebooted? NVRAM size of the RT-N16 is 32K as far as I know… I'm shocked that router is not a bricked …

Yes, the RT-N16 doesn't have 60K of nvram space. Anything trying to write to that "extra" space will fail with unpredictable results, although the firmware still works.
